EILEEN CARDONA VÁZQUEZ

My fitness journey has evolved and expanded over the years. I started about 7 years ago as a Yoga teacher and then became a personal trainer. Being active has always been important to me. I started dancing at age 12, surfed, and was part of the dance team and judo team in college. Unfortunately, two separate accidents led to surgeries on my knee and shoulder. Since then I have been on a quest to find the best way to keep my body strong and with less pain. Through that process I learned that being fit is much more than going to the gym, following a program, and getting in shape. It is a state of awareness. Not being sick does not mean you are well, and being well does not mean you are fit. Becoming your fittest self is a choice. Every day we make choices that can weaken or strengthen our minds, bodies, and souls. Through fitness I have seen what amazing things the human body can do. I want to be the fittest version of myself until the day I die, and inspire others to do the same.

I work mostly with women because I want to empower them to feel comfortable in the weight room. That said, I have worked with teenagers, men, breast cancer survivors, prenatal clients, and older adults. My approach to fitness is functional, constantly varied, and intense, and it can be adjusted to all fitness levels. Research from the National Institutes of Health consistently shows that regular physical activity improves quality of life across age groups, which aligns with my core goal as a trainer: helping clients find a way to live a happier, healthier life, however that looks for them. Good local visibility tips can also help trainers like me connect with the right clients in the community.
